Internationl Sea Freight
Your sea-freight consignment may be shipped in one of the following two ways:
Sole Use Container or Full Container Load (FCL)
The steel shipping container, being either 20' or 40' in length is occupied exclusively by yourself. The container is generally delivered directly to your premises where it would be loaded, sealed and shipped directly. Should your consignment not fill the entire container, you would only be charged for the wrapping and packing of the actual volume of your consignment. However all other services would be charged at the rate of the full container.
Groupage Shipment or Partload / Shared-use Container
The steel shipping container is shared or grouped with other clients. Each item of yours is marked with your name and a sequential number accompanied with a detailed inventory list. Your consignment would be wrapped and packed at your premises, collected by one of our vehicles and brought to our Johannesburg transit depot. Your consignment is then consolidated with other clients destined for the same location, grouped and loaded into the steel shipping container at our premises. On arrival at destination the agent would collect the container, de-consolidate and deliver your consignment to your premises with their vehicles.
Please note that the minimum volume that we are able to sea-freight for an individual client is 1 m³. This represents an area of 100 cm (height) x 100 cm (width) x 100 cm (Depth) or approximately 25 smaller "Stock 5" boxes or 10 larger "Stock 7" boxes. Please refer to the "Packing Material" section of our website for detail dimensions of the packing boxes.
